Go kids of any age? Then you need to grab copies of these books-wonderful gift ideas.
I Graduated, Now What? is a handy little book that covers everything from credit cards to how to wash your clothes to how to change a light bulb to how to set good routines to get things done. Well organized into chapters so it can be read cover-to-cover or just dip in to the section your kiddo needs right now. As the parent of young adults, I liked this book. It doesn’t talk down to the reader or assume they are just dumb kids. It gives practical advice-basically everything parents have been saying for the last ten years to these kids but they have ignored us because we are the parents! The writing style is casual and friendly, as if a friend is telling them how to do something or figure something out. I award five stars and highly recommend.
Would You Rather? WHAT FUN!! A book that is also a game-what’s not to like about that?! The book is set up as a game where players work their way through the sections answering fun questions and at the end of the book somebody wins. It is a fun adult type game experience for the younger crowd. No profanity or off color just fun, wild, and wacky all the way through. You have to think about your answers before some of the choices are weird and some are very intriguing. We tried it first just as the instructions say and that was an awesome family game night. Then we spent ANOTHER family game night just dipping in and out of the sections and questioning each other Would You Rather? and making up our own combos from the book. Another win for game night and tons of fun. There are eight volumes in this series (ours was specifically ANIMALS) so no one will ever be bored or get tired of it. Can you imagine a game night of mixing up the books and combining questions from say the Christmas and Summer editions or the Teen and Family Challenge editions? This was a definite WIN for us and I award another five stars to this one and urge you to put it on your bookshelf.
Activity fill in book with puzzles: mazes, crosswords, word searches and more. My only and I mean ONLY problem with this book is it ‘can’ be shared but it is better if everyone has their own copy. Geared for the 6-10 age group that are space fanatics-we all know which kid that is! The solar system/all the stuff out there and how we can explore it. The illustrations are marvelous and the puzzles engaged their interest for HOURS. Perfect for rainy days and car trips. There are four versions in the FUN WITH series so grab them all! Another five stars and highly recommend.
Can it be that ALL THREE BOOKS ARE THAT GOOD?!! Yes, yes, they are-I love it when I get a bundle of really good stuff. When they are also good for the kids and the family, that’s a bonus. If you have kids, I think you will be pleased with any of the books in this collection. They are all from the Zeitgeist imprint at Penguin Random House. The quality of the soft covers is outstanding, I’m not sure but I think you could wipe the covers with a damp cloth if needed. The paper is very nice and in the Fun With book, we used crayons and markers on them. The markers bled through if pushed really hard but colored pencils and careful markers would be ok. You could also pull the pages out and stick in page dividers for a write on/wipe off experience. If you can’t tell-I’m a fan!
I was provided copies of these books to read and share my opinions. Thanks for the free/gifted book, @penguinrandomhouse
