4 stars. Very good. Emily and Colin head off to Venice at the behest of Emily’s childhood frenemy, Emma. Emma’s father-in-law has been murdered and her husband has disappeared. Did he kill his father or is there a more sinister explanation? Emily and Colin go from palatial residences to a bordello! in their quest to unravel this twisty-turny tale. I couldn’t put it down and the book-in-a-book was so well done and added so much detail to the overall plot. The reveal was a bit confusing and I had to go back and re-read some things to make it make sense. I did overall enjoy this one and now on to number eight.
