A Crimson Warning (Lady Emily Ashton Mysteries #6) by Tasha Alexander

Lady Emily has returned to London and is looking forward to the season. Balls, champagne, glittering ladies and dashing gentlemen abound. But as red paint begins to be smeared over doorsteps, the ‘ton’ realize their secrets may be exposed to the light of day, no one is safe from disgrace, ruin and death. Emily and her husband, Colin, work for the crown alongside Scotland Yard to solve the mystery.

This is another excellent entry in the series. Characters say and do what you expect of them. The plot is very well done-I was enthralled and barely set the book down as I raced through to see what would happen next. Ivy is wonderful in this one, so true to character as she ( and the very dishy Jeremy, Lord Bainbridge) do their part to solve the puzzles and help Emily. The look at both women’s rights and the desperate poor as plot devices and social issues was so well done-Tasha never disappoints. 4 stars and on to the next in the series.
