An Act of Foul Play (A Lady Hardcastle Mystery) by T. E. Kinsey

Well done as always-three stars. Lady Hardcastle and the ever awesome Florence Armstrong enter the world of theatre in this one. As they enjoy a performance for Lady H’s birthday, a murder occurs-onstage! Of course they ‘must’ assist Inspector Sunderland to find the culprit. Much intrigue ensues as we follow our intrepid sleuths. I enjoyed the detailed backstage and acting behind-the-scenes bits that were strewn about; everything fits and advanced the story. Kinsey writes so well and it is a joy to read the tight plotting evident here. After it was over, I went back and realized there were clues galore-I however am not an intrepid sleuth so I missed them all and was as surprised as the characters when all was revealed at the end. This is book nine in the series and I hope it continues at this level for many more books.
