It is hard to believe we are on our twenty-ninth adventure with Stephanie and Lula. Evanovich clearly spent more time on this one than several of her earlier books. The plot has Connie kidnapped and our intrepid bail recovery agent fumbling around trying to find her with Lula in tow. Hilarious chaos ensues as Grandma Mazur and Morelli’s grandmother Bella make appearances. The usual chemistry with Ranger and things exploding and people shooting at each other. Some weirdness in how the characters reacted to Connie and her plight but still a fun romp for fans; newbies will be up to speed quickly. Three stars.
