Very good entry in the series. Lady Emily and her dishy husband, Colin are in Normandy following the events of book four. As Emily recovers she finds a body and the girls wounds are identical to murders in London. Has the dreaded Ripper moved across the channel? Who is the young woman and who would want her dead in such a gruesome manner? It will take all of Emily’s skill as a detective to solve this one. It was a twisty red herring plot full of interesting characters with secrets, madness and a spooky supernatural element. A bit different tone than the others in the series: it reads almost like a classic Gothic novel. I liked it and can’t wait to get book six.
